Project Coordinator – Community Engagement

The Project Coordinator- Community Engagement will coordinate activations with community partners in key markets of commercial focus.

Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to build the Delta brand in the communities where we live,work and serve through brand placement and activations with employee engagement.

Responsibilities of this position include coordinating large- and small-scale activations (10-person events to 200-person events) with the portfolio leaders, collaborating with Delta’s nonprofit partners, and ensuring a great employee volunteer experience.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and execute activations for employee involvement in markets of focus, including international markets. Manage all aspects of event development and execution including partner communication, volunteer recruitment, volunteer communication, event management, reporting, etc.

• Work with other members of the CE team to ensure consistency among partners in key markets

• Collaborate with commercial team and operational teams to fully leverage brand placement, associated employee engagement and hospitality opportunities

• Provide support for local leaders in the selected communities (speaking engagements, events, employee outreach)

• Support the CE team with partner and employee requests, annual projects and other requests

Job Qualifications:

• Prospective candidates should have a thorough understanding of developing and managing safe, productive, and enjoyable community engagement projects in partnership with non-profit

organizations. Candidates should also have clear understanding of leveraging these events to benefit Delta Air Lines from a marketing perspective.

• Strong project management, organizational, analytical, quantitative, leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization

• Marketing, Community Engagement, event management planning and/or activations experience

• Must be a self-starter but also able to bring team member ideas and suggestions together for best practices

• Must be detail oriented and have excellent follow-through in a fast-paced and high-volume environment

• Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities at any given time

• Ability to anticipate roadblocks and plan appropriately to mitigate risks

• Proficient in social media (Sky Hub, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Word)

• Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures

The ideal candidate will have, at a minimum, all the following:

• BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or Non-Profit Management

• 3+ years of project management experience required

• An energetic and self-motivated attitude

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Ability to anticipate roadblocks and plan appropriately to mitigate risks

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities at any given time

• Prior work experience in Events, Marketing, Non-Profit Management, Sponsorship, and/or Public Relations preferred

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)

• Ability to work relevant events, which happen weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays

• Some travel required (20-30%); including international
