Overview
We are seeking an experienced Associate Creative Director (ACD), specializing in experiential and event-driven creative leadership. This role is ideal for a creative visionary with a strong background in bringing brand stories to life across physical and digital environments, with a heavy emphasis on live events, activations, and interactive experiences. The ACD will partner closely with stakeholders, vendors, and internal creative teams to ideate, pitch, and execute world-class event experiences that drive both brand and business objectives.
Core Focus Areas
• Strong experiential and event marketing background.
• Ability to ideate and execute on activations and interactive experiences.
• Visual storytelling that translates across physical and digital environments.
• Comfortable concepting for large-scale events and translating ideas into signage, structures, and visual assets.
• Blend of production know-how and creative vision—someone who can both pitch and build.
• Ability to lead the creative process from ideation through execution, ensuring brand consistency and high-quality standards.
• Experience collaborating with internal teams and external partners to deliver impactful event experiences.
• Strategic thinker who can align creative output with business and brand objectives.
Required Experience
• Demonstrated history of event-based creative work, not just digital/brand design.
• Familiarity with event agencies (e.g., GPJ, Freeman) or similar high-touch event experiences.
• Deep print and experiential understanding—ability to bring concepts to life in physical spaces.
• Some digital crossover is okay, but not the main focus.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver under tight deadlines.
• Strong portfolio showcasing experiential, print, and environmental design for events.
• Experience managing or mentoring creative teams and junior talent.
• Proficiency in industry-standard creative software (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.).
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Advertising, Design, Communications, Fine Arts, etc.) required; advanced degree a plus.
Must-Have Skills
• Extensive event & experiential design experience.
• Creative concepting & ideation for live experiences.
• Visual storytelling and narrative development for physical environments.
• Print & environmental design expertise.
• Cross-functional collaboration with marketing, product, and event teams.
• Project leadership from concept through execution.
• Vendor & partner management for end-to-end creative implementation.
• Attention to detail and high standards for design and production.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Team mentorship and leadership abilities.
Soft Skills
• Strong communicator and collaborator.
• Capable of working in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
• Can take ownership of projects and run with limited oversight.
• Excellent presentation and pitching skills.
• Resourceful, adaptable, and able to troubleshoot creative and production challenges.
• Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and foster a positive team culture.
Nice-to-Have Skills
• Motion design, interactive content, or experience in gaming environments.
• Writing skills or experience in guiding narrative-led experiences.
• Able to partner with vendors and oversee end-to-end creative implementation.
• Agency experience at top event or creative agencies (e.g., Freeman, GPJ, Jack Morton, George P. Johnson).
• Experience with motion graphics, video content, or live-action production for events.
• Background in digital/physical integration (e.g., AR/VR, interactive installations).
• Experience designing or managing gamified experiences or bespoke games.
• 3D visualization skills (e.g., SketchUp, Blender, Cinema 4D) for event spaces and activations.
• Project management expertise, including scheduling and budget oversight.
• Familiarity with event technology platforms and digital signage.
• Sustainability focus in event design and production.
• Client-facing experience and ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Portfolio diversity across industries and event types.
