Hi! I’m Monica Vendituoli, a reporter turned public relations maven turned Duke Fuqua MBA student. I’m a real-life version of the “Explain It Like I’m 5” subreddit r/explainlikeimfive at your service. I thrive while pinpointing what differentiates firms from one another and then translating that knowledge into copy anyone can comprehend.

My specialties include media relations and messaging for fintech, finance, and cybersecurity companies. Writing media pitches is my passion. Through my pitching prowess, I’ve secured top-tier media for firms ranging from Series A startups to state-run investment funds with more than $9 billion in assets.

But pitching isn’t the only key to a winning media relations strategy now. And that’s where my aptitude for explaining difficult concepts comes into play. I enjoy ideating with company leaders to identify the right messaging framework for any marketing channel, whether it be an awards program or influencer engagement.
