Description

ARUNA KHILANANI, MA, MD.

A forensic psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who has made a series on the white mind and how the white mind is different from people of color in the structure of the conscious and unconscious.

Scope

• Community management and strategy - target industry audience is Pop Culture (music, comedians, etc)

• Content curation (writing, speaking engagements, video)

• Website setup - Identify, develop and manage platform(s) (e.g. website, )

• Branding, interface to popular culture

• Public relations strategy - pitching and story securement

VISION FOR WORK

• Put into words the experiences of people of color in terms of violence and harm. To say out loud what hasn’t been dared to be said. Unpacking something that would have never been taught to a general audience and which academics have failed learning

• Provide psychologically safe forum for people of color.

• Tone will be raw, unedited, comedic, unapologetic

• Underground quality, limited access to those who are really interested and engaged

• Forums provide safety for me and my family from white supremacists. The content is threatening and has led to serious risks to physical and financial wellbeing, medical license, and reputation.

Timeline

• This is a long-term vision and commitment. Initial project has goals as stated above, however, ultimately this is a long term job and with a plan to increase budget as role is expanded to help build a team including designer, make videos, etc and an entire production process.
