Freelance Publicist — Founder and Restaurant Group Profiling

We are looking for a well connected and experienced Publicist or PR Consultant to help tell the story of Ayat Restaurant Group and its founder. Ayat started in Brooklyn and has grown into a national brand known for its soul, design, and authentic Palestinian cuisine. We are expanding rapidly across the United States and need someone who can shape and share the story behind the brand, the philosophy, the vision, and the person driving it.

Your role is to lead PR and media outreach that builds the founder’s public profile and positions Ayat as a cultural and culinary movement. You will craft stories, secure top tier media coverage, and open doors to the right press, podcasts, and panels.

Responsibilities include

• Develop and execute a PR strategy focused on founder visibility and brand storytelling

• Pitch and secure media coverage in major outlets such as Forbes, The New York Times, Eater, Entrepreneur and more

• Build relationships with journalists, influencers, and editors across food, business, and culture

• Write and distribute press releases, bios, and media kits

• Coordinate interviews, features, podcasts, and event appearances

• Provide ongoing strategy to position Ayat as a national hospitality brand with heart and meaning

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in PR, communications, or media strategy within hospitality or lifestyle

• Strong media network and proven track record of published placements

• Excellent writing and pitching skills

• Strategic thinker who can work independently and move quickly

• Understanding of brand building and founder storytelling

Details

Freelance or short term contract for 3 to 6 months with potential to extend

Remote or New York City based preferred

Compensation based on experience and deliverables
