Description

As a Content Writer, you will craft clear, engaging, and informative content that resonates with both internal stakeholders and external members. You will play a vital role in communicating complex financial concepts in an accessible manner, enhancing our brand’s voice and presence as a subject matter expert in the industry. 

Essential Functions

  • Create high-quality written content for various platforms, including but not limited to articles, infographics, newsletters, social media, emails, video scripts, print, website, and other marketing materials as required.
  • Conduct thorough research on financial topics to ensure accuracy and relevance in all written materials.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and the Content team to develop content that meets business objectives and adheres to regulatory compliance standards.
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines and copywriting guidelines, ensuring PenFed’s voice and tone are consistent throughout. Provide both copywriting and copyediting of content as needed.
  • Work with SEO and other marketing teams to optimize content to follow best practices to enhance online visibility and engagement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, news, and regulations to inform content development and maintain thought leadership.
  • Monitor content performance metrics and adjust strategies based on analytics and feedback.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Three to Five (3-5) years of financial service writing experience preferred.
  • Proven experience as a content writer, preferably in the financial services industry. Financial education content experience is a plus.
  • Experience writing in a regulated industry. Knowledge of financial institution structure, products, policies and procedures preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts and the ability to simplify complex information for a broad audience.
  • Strong experience working with computer desktop programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
  • Be highly organized, deadline oriented, and quality focused.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent writing skills, including editing and proofreading, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and experience using tools like Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics preferred.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to analyze and synthesize information from various sources.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret policy, procedure, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to achieve accurate and precise results with minimal oversight. 

*Hybrid 3 days/week in office, office located in Tysons Corner, Virginia
